Closure of educational institutes in Himachal Pradesh extended till May 1
The government of Himachal Pradesh has decided to keep all the educational institutes, including schools and colleges, in the state closed till May 1 in view of the rise in Covid-19 cases in the past several days, as per an official statement. Earlier, the government had decided to keep the educational institutes in the state shut till April 21, but keeping in mind the current Covid-19 situation in Himachal Pradesh, the authorities decided to extend the closure of educational institutes.
Presiding over a meeting to review the coronavirus situation, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur issued the fresh orders. The faculty at schools, colleges, and universities are not required to come on their duty, the Chief Minister said, as per PTI reports.
The chief minister of Himachal Pradesh further said that the state Cabinet will meet on April 22 to take more decisions to contain the spread of coronavirus, apart from the shutting down of schools and colleges in the state.

HPBOSE exams, university exams postponed

Due to the rise in Covid-19 cases across the state, the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education also decided to postpone the HPBOSE Class 10 and Class 12 board exams for this academic year for the safety of the students. This decision was announced shortly after the Central Board of Secondary Education had decided to postpone the board exams in the country due to the Covid-19 spike. No new dates for the conduction of the HPBOSE exams have been announced yet by the government. Apart from the deferment of the state board exams, the government of Himachal Pradesh has also decided to postpone the university exams across the state. The new dates for the conduction of these exams will be released soon after the Covid1-19 situation is under control. Many states have ended up postponing the university exams and the board exams in their areas due to the second wave of Covid-19 in the country. All the exams are likely to be conducted in May or June this year when the pandemic situation is anticipated to be under control. Source: Indiatoday
